Loose round brilliant diamond

01

Lab-grown diamonds

A lab-grown diamond is a real diamond: crystalline carbon with the same chemical, physical and optical properties as a mined diamond. The difference is its origin — it is grown in a controlled environment rather than extracted from the earth.

02

Type IIa

Diamonds are classified by the trace elements in their crystal. Type IIa diamonds contain no measurable nitrogen, making them among the most chemically pure. In nature they are rare — estimated at only around one to two percent of mined diamonds.

03

CVD — chemical vapour deposition

In CVD growth, a thin diamond seed plate is placed in a chamber filled with carbon-rich gas. Energy breaks the gas apart and carbon atoms settle onto the seed, building the crystal layer by layer. Some CVD diamonds receive post-growth treatment to refine colour; where this applies to a stone, we will tell you.

Our disclosure standard

What we will always tell you.

  1. 01

Every specification we publish is verified for that piece or stone.

  2. 02

Grading reports are shared where available, and identified by issuing laboratory.

  3. 03

Metal type and purity are stated per piece.

  4. 04

We do not make sustainability or environmental claims we cannot substantiate.
